Production of Monkey tea began in the beginning of the twentieth century in a small village called Hou Keng. In 2004 it won the “King of Tea” award at the China Tea exhibition. This tea is oven-made, so the leaves are deep green in color with red veins underneath. This is a top tier tea, made from the bud and first leave of each tea plant, resulitng in a excellent quality tea. The tea has complex taste with a hint of flowery overtones, lingering sweet aftertaste.
