Shi Ru Xian is one of the oldest Wuyi oolongs. It was firstly produced in the 13th century during the reign of the Song Dynasty. This tea grows in the famous Bei Yuan tea garden. During the Song Dynasty, this tea was pressed and delivered exclusively to the imperial palaces. As a result of the tea culture development and the transition to loose tea, production of Shi Ru Xiang was stopped. Nowadays some enthusiasts have found the bushes and renovated the production technology.
